UNDER 12s TRIALS
An U12's Trial day was successfully hosted at Small Heath on Sunday 2nd April 2017. A turnout of 12 new players from several schools came along to try out to join our clubs U12's squad.
Players were put through a series of skill based challenges testing their hockey aptitude including: passing, shooting and dribbling. Players were then given the chance to take part in a mini 6 a side game where they were coached through games and showing their competitive nature in good sporting fashion.
A thank you to Nansen Primary, St Anne's Primary, Holy Family School, Montgomery Academy, Parkfield Community School and St Bernadette's School who were well represented by their pupils. Thanks must also go to Paul, Grace Jas and Tricia who helped on the day, not forgetting Jeevan and Zach who organised the event.
We hope that the players and families were encouraged by the excitement and enjoyment the players took away from the session and hope that this is the start of a new U12's side we have so missed in years gone by.
The next training session for successful players who passed the trial will be hosted on Sunday 23rd April 2017.
