Race Night Report 2018
Posted by Peter Brainch on 2 December 2018
The traditional Race Night proved to be a financial success for the Club, in the final analysis, raising £362 for the club.
Attendance on the night was modest, to say the least, but those who were there enjoyed the evening. This was our first social event at the Willclare Club. Those attending, commented on the suitability of the function room at the Club. It suited our needs very well. We look forward to our next functions there.
The main contributors to the financial success were the number of sponsors attracted and the number of horses sold. Our Chairman, Jevan can claim much credit for his efforts in raising sufficient interest to attract nine sponors in all. So all the races, including the auction Race were covered. Apart from the outside agencies in the community, our own club supplied a couple of race sponsors. Many thanks to Martin Curtice and the Club Veterans for their continued support in this way.
In all, 80 horses were sold and that is due to the continued support from regular club members and a goodly number that Jeevan managed to encourage to support us.
Some generous raffle prizes were donated, including a couple from the Willclare Club itself. Many thanks.
So many thanks to all who supported our Race Night in whatever way you did. Race sponsors, horse buyers, raffle prize donors and those who attended on the night.
I am sure our Treasurer is happy enough at the final outcome.
We now await our next events. You will have to read elsewhere for news of these.
