QUIZ NIGHT REPORT 2023

I would just like to thank all who attended and supported our traditional February Quiz Night. For your information, a total of 35 pizzas ordered and there wereanother 10 quiz only attendees. So, a good total of Club members, their friends and families, making up 8 teams.

This year we were aware of the increased costs of all things and realised that the traditional fish and chips was going to push up the cost of the evening more than we wanted. So to cut a long story short the pizza and fries deal became apparent and the one we hoped would appeal to members. Judging by opinions on the night this proved to be a good choice, I would like to thank Jeevan and Paul for sorting out the order and Jeevan for collecting the food. We thank ‘Dixy Chicken’ at the Yew Tree for doing a good deal for us and having it ready on time.

I would like to thank Neal for stepping in to help with the marking. This was a great help to the smooth running of the event.

The now traditional raffle attracted excellent support and a record amount of £129 was raised to help swell the funds. Thanks to Kyle and Jeevan for selling so many tickets and to all who donated prizes.

Your devious quizmaster, always endeavouring to make things a little different, hit upon the theme of Colours. It’s always a difficult job to pitch the suitability of the questions. It’s hard to please everyone all the time!!  Comments at the end of the evening seemed to have enjoyed this year’s event

So, with the quizmaster’s voice starting to croak. the hopefully enjoyable quiz came to and end with  the clear winners, Stan a his merry men gaining prizes for the Quiz itself, the Blockbuster and both the Spot Prizes . Congratulations to them.

At the end of the proceedings, when all account had been settled, a very handsome profit for the Club of £350 was raised.

Many thanks to all who supported the event.

Any positive feedback would be appreciated and would help guiding our thoughts in preparation for the next quiz.
