QUIZ NIGHT REPORT 2019

This year’s quiz night proved to be a great success. I remember that after last year’s event we wondered what would happen for the this year.

We need not have worried, as our move to the Willclare Club has proved to be a successful one. Orders for fish and chips were such that we needed to postpone the scheduled ‘feeding time’ to enable the large order to be prepared.

When all were assembled, there were ten teams – including teams made up of friends and family, work colleagues, Ex-WASPS club members and even team from Willclare Club members.  A big improvement on recent years. The evening began with the Blockbuster to keep everyone busy until the food arrived. When the real quiz got going, there were usual number of rounds and including a couple of spot prize rounds.

Pete’s questions kept everyone on their toes and, in the end, it was generally acknowledged that it had been a good night. The fish and chips proved to be very popular once again.

The Raffle was well supported and a record amount was raised by this feature of the evening.

Many thanks to all who supported the club event. Many thanks to Zach and Paul for sorting out the fish and chips, thanks to all who donated raffle prizes, thanks to Keith our  marker, thanks to Pete for devising a  sprinkling of some easy, some  not so easy and some tricky questions, thanks to all who were there on the night enjoying themselves and supporting the club.

Commiserations to the ‘Only Way is Up’ team for claiming the consolation losers’ prizes (secretly, I think they were happy enough with what they got). Congratulations to the ‘Let’s Get Quizzical’ team for winning both the Quiz and the Blockbuster.

The treasurer will also be  quite pleased with the £269 profit made for Club Funds. Our best effort for many years.
