A second game in two days and a rotation of some players with yet another debut. Today saw the return of Jack in goal and Stan up front. Early exchanges of good possession from both teams saw an evenly contested quarter. Ethan, Owen, Andre and Isa, our new 2s showed good promise, tracking back and growing in confidence throughout the game. At the back, Edan and Ian continued to marshall the team well, working the ball around rather than just down the middle. Tiredness kicked in and with a late rotation with M1 players to keep legs fresh, tiredness and fatigue (or nearly some 300 minutes of hockey for many this weekend) kicked in. Away from the game after the whistle, it was recognised the team putting in the effort. It was evident the team had not played together for some time, but again lots of positives to take from a very competitive opposition. |
