Return of the captain Alex saw yet more returns of M1 players this weekend, most if not all players making an appearance this weekend. With some tired legs and help from the M2s, the M1s started off brightly keeping Bloxwich at bay. The defense of Ian, Akib and Edan did well to thwart attacks and get the ball out. Bloxwich took a quickly and early lead into the game. Despite this our M1s continued to move the ball well, commit well to 50:50s and run the ball into space. Alex took a quick free hit and struck a crushing ball into the back post of the reverse to bring a goal back for the visitors. Bloxwich soon extended their lead even further with a penalty stroke.
Next week both M1s and M2s begin their league season as hosts to their opponents. |
