Match Report | Pershore Men's 1s 3-4 City of Birmingham Hockey Club Men’s 1stXI Goals from: Alex Makepeace x3, Jeevan Chagger CoB travelled to Pershore, with the hosts returning back to Pershore on their newly surfaced AstroTurf and a return after years of absence. CoB started off brightly with strong early exchanges with Alex Makepeace starting off the goals,l scoring early on. CoB soon doubled their lead with Alex running in on goal to win a penalty stroke to make it 2-0. Pershore pushed and tested the visitors pulling one back quickly after it was 2-0. With lots of positive exchanges, CoB continued to press, winning a short corner with Alex making it three before the advantage stretched further, Jeevan slotting in from close range. Pershore persisted but 4-1 at the break. Second half and the hosts pushed and found an opening 4-2. CoB held resolute, Jordan and Mat marshalling the defence. Neal was called in to make several saves to keep the visitors in it. With 10 minutes to go the deficit was cut again, Pershore working another goal. In the dying minute, Pershore broke on an attack only for Jordan to take a stick to the knee, a superficial cut on the kneecap bringing play to a halt before time was called with a second to go on the clock. A deserved three points on the road. |
