Match Report | CoBHC Men's 2ndXI 5 -0 Beacon M6s Goalscorers: Ben Matthews, Jeevan Chagger x4 Hot on the heels following a 3-2 win last time out the hosts also saw a ring of changes with skipper Edan unavailable. The game started off brightly with Ian marshalling the defence well and Troy filling Ian's usual role well. Ethan and Isa early on saw lots of the ball and grew in confidence as they made tackles, ran past players and called for the call. Midfield trio Stan, Ben and Jeevan utilised one another well and Anthony started off brightly knowing his job and running back to tackle and help the team. An early break saw Ben slip the ball to Anthony who held it up and laid it off for Jeevan, his initial shot going wayward and Ben deflecting it into the goal. The gears were clicking and 3 minutes later, another break with Stan feeding Anthony then Jeevan who made no mistake and found the bottom corner. 2-0 inside 21 minutes and it wasn't long before it was 3, Jeevan again played in by Stan, driving right side of goal and finding the back post again! It could've been 4, Jeevan's questionable reverse looping players and hitting the post. Half time and a 3-0 lead but this seemed all too familiar to last week The team talk was simple. Not to let it slip. Isa started off the half brightly finding Zee and Stan in spaces who fed the ball forwards, Jeevan latching onto a loose ball, right side again, back of the net. 4-0. Ethan worked hard as he rotated with Andre, growing into the game and making tackles and not being afraid. Troy continued to command well his space and fed balls forward. One such clearance found Stan in his own half unmarked, driving towards goal, slipping in Jeevan to seal 5-0 at 43 minutes. There probably were more goals in it but the team dropped back sat a bit deep and swept up any threats, clearing away 4 consecutive short corners and Jack making a diving save as he came off his line. 5-0 in the end with a whole team performance the youngsters growing into the game, having the confidence and determination to turn it up when it mattered.
