Match Report | CoB Men’s 1sts 0 v 0 Stourport 3rds CoB made a positive start to the game, creating some good moves forward and posting some close efforts on goal. Stourport were creating a few attacking moves of their own but with no direct threat on goal. As the half wore on CoB seemed to enjoy most of the possession. Noor just missed a good chance on goal. Stourport did exert some chances, forcing Neal into some good saves and clearances. The half-time break saw the game still tied at 0-0 and CoB ruing their missed chances and their lack of togetherness at times. A fairly-even start was made to the second half and Zach conjured a good shot on goal. CoB established the better of the possession but could not turn their efforts into a goal. Some wasted passes and some lack of self-discipline at times were not helping their cause. A surge into the D saw Alex go just wide with his shot. Alex was soon in the action again and he thought he had scored only to see it disallowed as he played his shot whilst on the floor. Stourport began to put together a strong effort, one of which needed Neal to make another good save. Both teams were striving for the winner but at the final whistle it was honours even with a point each. CoB had the chances to have achieved more from the game. A lack of discipline at times is a call for all players to be aware of their responsibilities during the game. Off the pitch for a green or yellow card does no favours for team-mates. Too many of these will eventually bear a heavy toll in terms of Club fines and individual suspensions. |
