Match Report | CoB Men’s 2nds 1 v 5 Olton & West Warwicks 6ths Goalscorer: Sean Brookes A tough 5-1 loss for second team on Saturday. Only 9 players! We started brightly with good short passing in the middle of the pitch. A positive 10 minutes. After the hard-won victory at Olton earlier in season this Olton team was definitely a weaker side but as I said we only had 9. Matt Kong cancelled his Mother's Day party to help once he knew we were down to 9 but could only play fifteen minutes. Rob and Ian had great defensive play stopping lots of attacks. I was very pleased with the team's commitment and we never gave up. We probably won more short corners than all of last week end’s two games. Also, we won a flick but their keeper saved a well taken flick by Rob. The team was compact and tried to keep possession throughout the game. Eventually the greater numbers of Olton took their tolls. Sean scored on the 34 minutes mark from a goal mouth scramble and also Anthony had a shot cleared off the line by the last defender. Second half fatigue was a problem understandably but chances came again with lots of shorts but the shots were lacking precession. Midfield battled hard and everyone enjoyed the performance. Man of the Match Parameth.
