CoB M1s finally got their league campaign off the ground with a full game, following last week's abandoned game, now due to be replayed on 23rd October. Cob started off brightly with Alex driving into the circle in the opening minutes, only for the home keeper to parry the ball away.
The home team began to grow into the game with pressure on our back line, despite clinical interceptions from Abbasi, Paul and Edan. Neal was called into action at a few short corners and attacks which came to nothing.
CoB continued brightly with Scott and Abrar creating chances and making space in the middle. A quick ball from Paul to Abrar, played Jeevan in who slipped the ball to Scott, another fine shot saved in the final minute of the first half.
At the break, all square, but then the visitors turned it up a gear and created many chances for themselves, Noor playing the ball at the keeper and Scott's deflection narrowly wide. The hosts broke away quickly later in the second half to take the lead. With just 10 minutes left, CoB continued to knock on the door, Zach, Jeevan, Alex all having attempts saved as the pressure continued to mount on the home team. Jordan and Abrar combined well to break down an attack, playing in Noor whose shot was stopped on the line, Alex's follow up also being saved on the line before Scott crashed the ball against the post and into the back of the net. Into the final 5 minutes and CoB continued knocking on the door in search of a winner but both teams held out well for a draw on what was a very wet and cold Saturday afternoon.
