Match Report | Stratford M4s 0-2 CoBHC M1s Goal Scorers: Kyle Letts and Jeevan Chagger CoB Men's 1stXI travelled to Stratford for a late morning push back. The hosts started off strongly with very early possession, but with the visitors cutting out attacks and launching counter-attacks well, Ash finding Abrar, Kyle and Jeevan, with the latter unable to get onto the end of 2 great crosses. The pressure would pay dividends with Abrar finding Jeevan whose deft touch took the ball past the keeper with Kyle slotting home. The visitors soon doubled their lead, Alex finding Ash who played in Abrar, his initial shot going array and Jeevan powered the ball into the net. 2-0 up in 10 minutes, would seem good going, but the visitors faltered into their recent pattern of sloppy play and inviting pressure. Akib, David, and Mat were resolute at the back with Alex and Scott sweeping up in front. Abbasi played good balls out wide for Jeevan and Kyle, creating further chances but not enough for further goals. Alex saw himself carded with a green in the latter parts with Jeevan then going down and hitting the deck, running into a player. Moments later, Mat would see himself carded, for talking to his own player. Late on Stratford got the ball into the back of the net, only for it to be disallowed after the shot was above backboard height before deflecting off a white stick from a short corner. Half time and the performance had not been entirely great. After the break, the home side again took control of the early parts. Alex and Scott would play long balls up to Abbasi who held up the ball well, playing in Jeevan and Kyle running in from the wings, several chances going wide, the easiest of which saw Jeevan miss an open goal (That's what happens when you don't attend training). Scott and Alex continued to find themselves in good spaces using the full-backs Akib and David to drive at the Stratford defence. The home side pressed late on, in search of a consolation goal but CoB defended well to gain yet another clean sheet. Next week the M1s host Worcester in their first game back at Small Heath, their first home game of 2022.
