Match Report | CoB Men's 1s 6-2 Old Silhillians M3s
Goal scorers: Noor Zaman, Mohammed Ibrar Abbasi, Junaid Ali, Alex Makepeace x3
In what was only the second full home game for the Men’s 1sts so far this season, CoB started off brightly with much possession, having early chances with Noor making it 1-0 within the opening five minutes. The midfield of Alex, Zach and Scott combined well with Abbasi playing just behind Noor, with Zach creating space for Alex to reverse it bottom corner to make it 2-0. CoB dropped off for the next 10 minutes with their shape and marking also following suit, Old Sils putting pressure onto the back line of Ubaydah, Mat and David. The hosts kept them at bay for long periods but it was the visitors who took their chance on the third making it 2-1. With two subs squad rotation was key and Junaid and Jordan came on to make the difference, Junaid poking home the third.
Half time and the hosts on top. CoB settled back down in the second half with Jeevan and Kyle enjoying possession on the wings and Noor as ever testing the keeper. But again, it would be Old Sils who found the next goal bringing scores to 3-2. CoB began to pass their way around the game and find an opening, Jeevan winning a short corner from which Alex struck the ball cleanly into the bottom corner, 4-2. The midfield trio kept it fluid and Alex made a lovely aerial from within his half to find Kyle who ran down the wing and by-line to pick Abbasi on the keeper who made no mistake, 5-2 with a goal off the training ground. CoB pressed until the final whistle again winning a short and Skipper Alex stepped up and drag flicked in the top corner getting his hat-trick and taking the game to 6-2.
Next week the M1s travel away to Olton.
