Yardley travelled to Solihull Blossomfield for their final away game for 2019. Yardley started off brightly with Zach and Jeevan combining well and strong crosses coming in from the right. Within 5 minutes, Yardley had the ball in the back of the net but Noor’s goal was correctly ruled out for being struck outside the D. Moments later, Jordan played a ball onto Jeevan whose run cutting in from the left beat the defence as he tipped the ball around the keeper from the baseline.

Yardley stepped up a gear this time the defence of Mat, Harry and Noah pushing up to force the ball into the area. Zach found Jeevan whose reverse shot crashed against  the post and Noor made no mistake with the rebound. Jordan, Kyle, Lindani and Jahed had much joy on the wings and behind the striker, making great runs and crosses. Alex played a quick ball into Jeevan who turned his defender inside and out before drive a shot through the keeper’s legs for Yardley’s third. With a comfortable lead, it then felt that Yardley somewhat took their foot off the gas with Blossomfield crawling the advantage back to only 2 goals. 1-3 at the break.

In the second half, Blossomfield attacked and threatened the Yardley defence numerous times and took advantage with another well worked goal. With tackles being won well across the pitch, Yardley threatened with Mat’s 16 hit being deflected across the field by Jeevan, giving Noor a chance on goal which went agonisingly wide. Zach drove the ball well into the D from a quick free hit and flicked the ball into the bottom corner. 2-4 the score-line. Alex found himself in the clear with another attack, finding Noor with an aerial, unmarked in the D, who made no mistake beating the keeper to make it 5.

A top performance was rounded off with a great cross into Noor whose shot was stopped on the line by the Blossomfield keeper, only for Lindani to tap it in on the back post to make it 6-3 to Yardley.

Next week Yardley play their final home league game for 2019 against Edgbaston 4s, although the ist half of the league progrmme is not completed until the game against Stratford on 11th Jan.
