Match Report | West Bromwich 1 Yardley 1 Yardley goalscorer: Barakah
We had several new members coming into the squad from our Club Chairman's (Jeevan) school. These new players blended well with our experienced squad and the whole team played confidently. The first half was very even and the first well-taken goal by Barakah was the only difference between the teams at the break. West Bromwich scored early in the second half which buoyed their team. Yardley had to defend for long periods and never really got an attack in the West Bromwich half. Being pushed back by the high press meant the Yardley midfield and defence had to work hard for the full 35 minutes. To the whole team's credit they all worked hard together and kept the final score all evens at 1-1. Congratulations to all our new players who all integrated well and played with confidence. Also well done to our more experienced players who welcomed and encouraged the new young players throughout the game. |
