Match Report | Yardley Badgers 0 v 5 Sutton Coldfield The first ten minutes set the tone for the whole game, the visitors attacked with individual skill dribbling through our defence. Our back three defended against them with great tackles. Our keeper saved shots and the midfield helped the team and defended deep. The Opposition were well organised. Nearly all are County players. As the game wore on we counter-attacked and got into their “D” several times but alas no clear shots to test the keeper. To the home team’s credit they kept working extremely hard. Edan got a knock in defence near the end of the half getting a deflected ball hitting his chin. After getting checked out at the first aid desk he bravely returned for the second half. Going into half time only one goal down was testament to how hard the defence worked. A Poor team performance based on our shape but great defending throughout the squad. Yardley needed to have another older player on the pitch to offer that stability we had the previous week, the team lacked it this week. Can't be done from side line! Four goals came in the second half as the pressure mounted and the Yardley team grew tired from all their hard exploits'. Lessons to learn for next week is to keep a shape on the middle and not bunch up when breaking away at pace to attack.
