Match Report | LEAMINGTON 6 YARDLEY 0 Yardley endured another difficult game against promotion contenders in the Warwick Printing MRHA Hockey League, West Midlands 1 In spite of s difficult season, Yardley started brightly, keeping Leamington at bay until mid-way through the first half. The home side were pressing from the off and earned several short corners but in spite of their efforts were not finding it easy to press home their advantage, frustrated by a resolute Yardley defence. Eventually as they continued to press forward two goals came in quick succession. Yardley created some chances themselves, one of which went very close from skipper Zach Jarvis. Then just before the break, Leamington virtually made the game safe with a third goal. During the second half, Yardley tried hard to stay in the game, with Kyle Francis linking play well to create several options. Other chances led to short corners which did not lead to anything definite. Leamington continued with their own attacking game giving Yardley keeper, Neal Makepeace, plenty of work to do. Yardley’s defenders kept to their game but eventually three more goals were conceded leading to another unhappy result for the visitors. Leamington maintained their promotion ambitions with a comfortable win. This week, Yardley entertain Wednesbury. |
