Match Report | Yardley never really recovered from a somewhat unfortunate start in this Warwick Printing MRHA West Midlands Division 1 game. A car-full of players was late arriving and so the rush to start did not do Yardley any good at all. Pershore tore into their visitors right from the start but were unable to make an immediate impact. Yardley tried hard to create their own breaks, mainly on the counter. However, midway through the half, Pershore took a quick free hit into the D to create the first goal. Right from the re-start Yardley created an immediate response as Navid Akram managed to get a touch at the far post to level the scores. Pershore continued to press forward at every opportunity and forced a series of short corners. Good backing up by Kamran Mir and splendid saves by Neal Makepeace eased the pressure temporarily. Pershore’s quality play led to two more goals before the interval. Yardley tried to up their game at the start of the second half. Skipper, Zach Jarvis linked well with Alex Makepeace also Usamah and Udaydah Iqbal but to little avail. Pershore continued with their dominance and three more goals were added from open play and another from a penalty flick after a foot infringement on the line, to complete a miserable afternoon for the visiting team. This week Yardley will hope for better at home to Redditch. |
